WA to SA

It’s been a long time coming but finally we left Covid Safe WA and on route to Adelaide to visit our daughter, son in law & grandsons.

The weather has been terrible, very wet & cold though the winds were NNE and chasing us the whole way which is a lot better than fighting head winds when towing.

1st night was an early stop at Boorabin rest area between southern cross and coolgardie. With agonising hip pain I felt it was going to be a long trip.

When we stopped I was pissed off when I noticed the van had lost a bearing cap and about to lose another due to the worker at Luxury RV who after fixing a brake fault, fitted them with a hammer. Luckily I had a new set and changed them all over. trip.

The 2nd day we had more rain and wind and stopped at a Woorlba a 24 hour camp on the Eyre Highway. It was freezing cold but I lit a fire and played a few tunes and had a drink for our Bro 🤠

The 3rd day was another short drive with us pulling into Madura Pass Lookout at midday and deciding to stay the night. With painful hip pain stabbing away a few medicinal Rums were needed. Another good fire.

Our 4th night we stopped at Cohens old school site before Penong. Here we found another Bushtracker parked up and pleasantly surprised to see it was John & Marilyn whom we had met before at Buntine Rocks, so it was good to catch up.

Another very cold night and we left the diesel heater ticking away all night. We didn’t get away until after 8am and called in to Ceduna to fuel up and get a great cofffee at the Bakery.  We have always meant to call in and look at the Old Marshall Family Homestead so this time we stopped and had lunch and a look around, with the rain coming down it was a interesting muddy look. We would definitely stay here a night if the opportunity arose in the future.

By the time we left the homestead it was mid afternoon and we decided with the wild weather we would stop at the RV Friendly town of Kimba, the town welcomes travelers and allows free camping at the Recreation Reserve so it was another day with not much distance travelled.

All going well we will be at our daughters tomorrow afternoon and getting smothered in grandson hugs 🤗

Caiguna to Boondi Rock and Home

Arrived back home in Safety Bay WA after battling the worst head winds we have encountered for many years, rain and wind, wind & rain ....
