A drive to the tip of Cape York, we checked out the Croc Tent for some souveniers and Somerset beach before getting to the Northern most point of Australia. We went to Punsand Bay for lunch, which was actually very nice.

A night at Bramwell Station where we indulged in an evening buffet meal and entertainment by the Bagman. Around 3 hours of singing, story telling and poetry including a version of The Man From Snowy River, his guitar playing was superb. A place well worth staying

Two nights at Weipa caravan park, we caught up with the washing and did some shopping at Woolworths. Caught a Queenfish at Rocky Point boat ramp, two young boys both caught a Barra each. I found I had a problem with the auxiliary battery getting charged and took the car to Weipa Field Services at around 3.30pm and they were extremely helpful in fixing the problem. So the car fridge is now working ðð

At the turn off to Weipa and PDR, we drove a bit further and took the Batavia Downs Road. It was a far better road being recently graded and maintained. A camp stop at York Downs Dam for a $2 donation along the way and then into Weipa for two day stay.

Chuulungun camp ground on the Wenlock River. We camped on the lower section but that afternoon some other campers walked down and told us that David the local indigenous Ranger was giving a talk in the evening. It was interesting but too many personal questions directed to the Ranger I thought.
