Cape York August 2018

A drive to the tip of Cape York, we checked out the Croc Tent for some souveniers and Somerset beach before getting to the Northern most point of Australia. We went to Punsand Bay for lunch, which was actually very nice.

Whoopee ðŸĪŠðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚ Tick off the Cape York Adventure.. Next is a 3 Island Tour on Monday and then tackle the corrugations back down South.

Seisia August 2018

As nice as our camp was at Umagico  this camp at Seisia tops it. Might just stay here and drive to the top.

This big fellow was on an island directly opposite our camp

5th August 2018

A night at Bramwell Station where we indulged in an evening buffet meal and entertainment by the Bagman. Around 3 hours of singing, story telling and poetry including a version of The Man From Snowy River, his guitar playing was superb. A place well worth staying

4th August 2018

Two nights at Weipa caravan park, we caught up with the washing and did some shopping at Woolworths. Caught a Queenfish at Rocky Point boat ramp, two young boys both caught a Barra each. I found I had a problem with the auxiliary battery getting charged and took the car to Weipa Field Services at around 3.30pm and they were extremely helpful in fixing the problem. So the car fridge is now working 😎👍

4th August 2018

At the turn off to Weipa and PDR, we drove a bit further and took the Batavia Downs Road. It was a far better road being recently graded and maintained. A camp stop at York Downs Dam for a $2 donation along the way and then into Weipa for two day stay.

Cape York 3rd August 2018

Chuulungun camp ground on the Wenlock River. We camped on the lower section but that afternoon some other campers walked down and told us that David the local indigenous Ranger was giving a talk in the evening. It was interesting but too many personal questions directed to the Ranger I thought.

Vickie isn't keen on snakes but she had the knack of spotting them in the branches wherever we went.

And now we wait, crossing the Jardine River can be a busy time .... thankfully not as many as a few weeks ago though, we’re 4th in line once they fix the ferry ðŸĪŠ
