Home from Ningaloo and after 3 weeks of catching up with all our jobs and Dr / Dentist appointments plus some jobs done on our caravan we managed to get away again, this time heading East across the Nullarbor.. something we have lost count off but certainly 30 plus times over the years ..
Left home in the rain and it didn’t stop for two days .. well really 3 because it wasn’t raining on the 3rd morning ..we went South via Williams and Ravensthorpe instead of the usual Perth Coolgardie route, roads are quieter and more scenic but gee did it get bloody cold. We visited a Malley Bird ‘farm’ Cafe at Ongerup where we indulged in a coffee and cheesecake for the bargain price of $10 each ..
1st night we stayed at Wagin Showgrounds, $10 a night with power and water. Excellent value and we had the water connected so nice long hot showers, plus with 240v our battery system got a full charge.
2nd night, Munglinup rest area opposite the servo, the rain bucketed down !!
3rd night with more rain we stopped at a bush camp ‘somewhere’ past Norseman .. name etc escapes me but it was well off the road and a nice Kimble Fire even though the rain came down, it eased off long enough for me to take some photos and then we were in the van with heater on.
4th night was awesome, we stayed around 10k East of Border village, 1.8k in on a well defined track that had lots of different turns but all ended up at a ideal camp overlooking the ocean. And a very calm ocean and no wind which was great, another Kimble Fire and drinks until the cold drive us inside.
5th Tonight it’s another bush camp, 80k west of Ceduna ..Cowen Historic School site , phone signal so time to catch up on messages etc plus today is our sons Birthday.. Happy Wishes Dan ❤️
