Trephina Gorge & East MacDonnell Ranges
We spent 4 nights at Trephina Gorge in the East MacDonnell Ranges where we had a great time catching up with Kimbo & Ned again and the following day Clive & Claudia vacated the van park they were in and also came and stayed with us all. We explored some of the area and walked some of the trails around the area, visited Ross River Campground but were not allowed in as they had the place booked for a convention, didn't bother us because at the price of $15 a person the place did nothing for us.
On the main road we were able to get plenty of firewood so that Kimbo could keep the campfire burning, we ate well with two Pork camp oven roasts and a corned silverside with all the trimmings.
On Saturday evening the Ranger used our site as a talk to all the campers explaining the job's of the Park Rangers and then an early night for us. The next day we packed up and headed back into Alice, where we are all staying at the showgrounds which is far nicer than any van park in town as far as we are concerned, green grass & plenty of space and we have the 3 vans set up facing each other.
At the showgrounds there was a Car Show on, so we went to the Todd Mall Markets for a quick shop before us blokes walked around the car show checking out the vehicles on display, then back to the vans for happy hour.

Hi Mick,
Good to hear Kimbo & Ned arrived safely. Boy does he move around! LOL
We're back in Kununurra after camping on the Keep River for 5 nights for 1 barra and 8 crabs and 1 salmon, not counting the crab the croc stole from one of the traps and munched on while we watched - cheeky bugger!

Hi David & Jane,
amazing! you were mentioned this evening as we sat around happy hour freezing our butt's off.
We are Bro's ... wherever we are in Oz we have the knack of turning up at the right time.
It is good to see you guys are having so much fun out there! We leave on the Oodnadatta Track in a couple of days (stopping off first at the Flinders). Give Kimbo and Ned our love.
Chris
